Combine Health+Economy Plan
The “Sumamos Plan” was created to mitigate the harmful effects of the pandemic through the coordinated and supportive action of companies, led and represented by the CEOE Foundation.
The Combine Health+Economy Plan was created to support the Regions in their efforts to contain and combat COVID-19. An example of public-private collaboration under which the CEOE Foundation and the collaborating companies agreed to back and reinforce the actions of the public administrations in the fight against COVID-19, with a special focus on health, preserving employment and showing solidarity with the most disadvantaged.
The Combine Plan was originally articulated through four main initiatives: massive and recurrent testing, support in the adoption of the Radar COVID application, communication and health awareness campaigns, and support for the most vulnerable cohorts. It is worth mentioning the participation of the Incorpora Program under the La Caixa Foundation, aimed at helping people at risk of exclusion and individuals who, as a result of the health crisis, suffered long-term unemployment and wanted to re-enter the labour market.
Subsequently, the Plan was also made available to the government to help with the vaccination process.
Agreements were signed with 16 Autonomous Regions that accounted for more than 90% of the Spanish population, as well as with the Central Government.
More than 100 large companies joined the Plan, more than 25,000 SMEs and self-employed individuals participated, more than 1.5 million tests were performed, and 1 million vaccines were administered.
It is essential to continue joining efforts between the public and private sectors in order to overcome the pandemic as soon as possible and promote that, as a result of this collaboration, economic recovery can be accelerated.
