The CEOE Foundation presents the Madrid Guarantee Seal

This takes place within the framework of the 'Sumamos Plan' signed by the Community of Madrid, CEIM and the CEOE Foundation. It is a free and fast certification that will be issued by the Fundación Madrid por la Competitividad (Madrid for Competitiveness Foundation), which depends on the regional government. The CEOE Foundation received the Madrid Guarantee Seal during the event in recognition of its good practices in dealing with the COVID-19 crisis.

On Monday, the CEOE Foundation and the Community of Madrid presented the collaboration agreement to grant special recognition to the companies’ commitment to health and social development, within the framework of the ‘Sumamos Plan’.

This is a specific badge awarded to those companies that have the Madrid Guarantee Seal and that, in addition to complying with the minimum standards established, are undertaking other actions such as mass screenings, health awareness actions or collaborating in the initiatives set up within the plan to benefit highly disadvantaged groups.

This is a free and quick certification that will be issued by the Fundación Madrid por la Competitividad, which falls under the authority of the regional government.

The event, in which the CEOE Foundation received the Madrid Guarantee seal in recognition of its good practices in the fight against the COVID-19 crisis, was attended by the Secretary General of the CEOE, José Alberto González Ruiz, the President of the CEOE Foundation, Fátima Báñez, and the Regional Minister of Economy, Employment and Competitiveness of the Community of Madrid, Manuel Giménez.

The presentation was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Health Humanisation, José María Antón, and the Director of the Madrid Foundation for Competitiveness, Félix Losada.

In his welcoming remarks, José Alberto González Ruiz emphasised that the seal, which will be issued by the Regional Ministry of Economy of the Community of Madrid through its foundation, “provides the security and certainty that citizens are currently expecting from us”, and added that “all companies that wish to join can request it from the Regional Ministry and thus become major players in the fight against the virus”.

Afterwards, Fátima Báñez said that this initiative “is at the forefront of public-private collaboration”, while stressing “the commitment” of the Community of Madrid, through the Regional Ministry of Economy, Employment and Competitiveness, “to the Sumamos Plan and to the fight against COVID-19”, along with “the commitment of all companies”.

In addition, Fátima Báñez addressed “the Community of Madrid and the Government of Spain” and she offered the “Spanish company facilities, temporary centres, private healthcare and also mutual work accident insurance companies to help in the vaccination”. “Because until we reach herd immunity, as the health authorities tell us, the fight against the pandemic will not be complete”, concluded Báñez.

In turn, from the Community of Madrid, its Regional Minister for the Economy, Employment and Competitiveness, Manuel Giménez, expressed his “support to the generosity of employers” for having made their tools “available for the common good”.

Giménez stated that “this agreement reinforces the regional government’s commitment to combine compliance with health regulations with the sustainability of economic activity”, and added that, to this end, “we have two tools such as the Sumamos Plan and the Madrid Guarantee Seal, which demonstrate the commitment of companies not only to health, but also to social development”.
