Cardiovascular diseases cause 10% of the loss of adjusted years for disability and lead to 4,500,000 hospital admissions per year,” he stressed.
“Furthermore, if we look at the workplace alone, and according to the preliminary Workplace Accident Statistics published by the Ministry of Labour and Social Economy, from January to February of this year, 96 fatal accidents occurrent at the workplace, of which 46 were due to myocardial infarction or cerebrovascular accidents. These data highlight the need for companies to take measures aimed at improving cardiovascular health education for their workers,” concluded Dr. Íñiguez.
