The presentation tour of the ‘Es tu Fuerza’ (It’s your Force) project throughout Spain kicks off in Seville, to bring together the employment needs of military personnel and the search for qualified profiles by companies
The CEOE Foundation, the Andalusian Confederation of Employers (CEA) and the Ministry of Defence held a series of events on Monday to raise awareness of the 'Es tu Fuerza' project among army personnel and Andalusian companies.
This is an initiative launched last April, following the agreement reached between the CEOE Foundation and the Ministry of Defence, which aims to serve as a bridge between the needs of army personnel to continue their careers in the private sector once they reach the age of 45 and the search for qualified profiles by companies.
These sessions – which will have a first part focused on army personnel, and a second part for companies – are the start of a round of events that will take place over the coming months across Spain to publicise the ‘Es tu Fuerza’ (It’s your Force) project.
This first stop was attended by the President of the CEOE Foundation, Fátima Báñez; the President of CEA, Javier González de Lara; the Regional Minister for the Presidency, Interior, Social Dialogue and Administrative Simplification of the Andalusian Regional Government, Antonio Sanz; the Regional Minister for Employment, Enterprise and Self-Employment of the Andalusian Regional Government, Rocío Blanco; and the Undersecretary of Defence, Adoración Mateos.
The events also benefited from the testimony of people who have been hired after their time in the army, as well as from hiring companies, who explained the enormous mutual benefit experienced and encouraged the broadening of these experiences.
As the President of the CEOE Foundation, Fátima Báñez, pointed out at the beginning of the event, “‘Es tu Fuerza’ is an alliance between the Armed Forces, institutions and Spanish companies, so that military talent is able to find a place in companies where they may contribute their experience, skills and, in addition, values such as diligence, effort, teamwork and adaptability, which are highly valued in companies.”
“We are here to tell the servicemen and women that we need them in companies because with them it will be easier to continue building a future together, and to tell companies, face to face, that they have to work with them in order to have the best people,” she added.
In turn, the president of CEA pointed out that Andalusian businessmen have wanted to join “a pioneering initiative”, with the aim of “recruiting talent, sacrifice, effort, tenacity and discipline”.
González de Lara expressed “the gratitude of Andalusian businessmen to the Armed Forces for their work during the pandemic”. “It is about forming alliances, helping each other and building, in this case, a labour market that is more competitive, with talented and skilled people,” he concluded.
What is the ‘Es tu Fuerza’(in English, ‘It’s your Force’) Project?
In April 2021, the CEOE Foundation and the Ministry of Defence signed an agreement for the implementation of activities that complement the training, specific adaptation, and labour integration of military personnel in the business world.
The project ‘Es tu Fuerza’ (It’s your Force) was born within this framework of collaboration. Its main objective is the integration of military personnel into the labour market, providing them with professional opportunities that allow them to continue with their professional and personal development and that value their effort, their level of commitment and their outstanding skills.
It also aims to help companies to attract talent, which is a key element for competitiveness and the growth of their business.
This is a tailor-made project, highly dynamic and flexible, which makes it possible to provide support to military personnel who wish to make the transition from the military to the business world in a close, objective, and comprehensive way.
To achieve these objectives, we start by actively listening to identify, on the one hand, the profile of the people who want to join the civilian labour force, as well as their needs and interests and, on the other hand, to meet the need for talent and the demand for qualifications in our productive system.
